Lakeview Neighborhood Association holds inaugural meeting
Earlier tonight resident Dustin Reed facilitated the first meeting of the Lakeview N.A. at Lakeview Hope Academy, an elementary school just north of 108th St. SW
Mayor Bocchi pitched in, assisted by Councilmember Michael Brandstetter and City Manager Doug Russell. Captain Jeff Paynter provided LPD presence since police representation is always welcome at Neighborhood Association meetings. Chris Davis here has become an essential liaison between the City and citizen organizations as Neighborhood Coordinator Connection Program.
Reed said “I just think that there's room for us as residents to be active and to try and improve our community.”
“Lakeview is one of the most accessible neighborhoods in Lakewood. It's one of the easiest to move into.”
City Manager Doug Russell said “Every neighborhood is unique and very diverse and has a wide spectrum which I think is actually a huge benefit for any community .”
The City Staff offered how the N.A. can best represent itself and engage the community. The N.A. is looking into something similar to a Facebook page or other media.
Their next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Nov25.
