LYRE editorial; a call to expedite the investigation of Deputy Chief John Unfred

It has been over four months since Lakewood Police Deputy Chief John Unfred was placed on ‘paid administrative leave’ pending an investigation into an alleged violation of department policy. The officer-involved shooting investigation of Leonard Thomas only took three-and-a-half months. 

By all accounts and appearances John Unfred is a mild-mannered and affable sort. His continued suspension is baffling. Unfred was one of the finalists that applied for the Chief's job of the Lakewood Police Department.
