Washington Adds a Mobile Food Vendor License for Cities - dor.wa.gov

The Washington State Department of Revenue has rolled out a new “Mobile Food Vendor License” framework that cities can adopt as part of their business endorsement system. About a dozen Washington cities are piloting the endorsement in 2026, with a broader rollout planned for next year through partnerships with the Association of Washington Cities and the Municipal Research and Services Center.

The new license is designed to standardize how food trucks and other mobile vendors register and operate across jurisdictions, instead of negotiating separate paperwork for every city they work in.
